In electronics, the superheterodyne
receiver (also known by its full name, the supersonic heterodyne
receiver, or by the abbreviated form superhet) is a technique
for selectively recovering information from radio waves of a
particular frequency. It is used in radio and television receivers
and transmitters, allowing them to be tuned to a particular frequency.
